Miss Czech-Slovak Wisconsin State Queen
1999-2000 and 2005-2006
Each year candidates from all over the state of Wisconsin come to Phillips to compete for the title of Wisconsin Czech-Slovak Queen. The winner of this competition represents the state of Wisconsin at the national competition in Wilber Nebraska the first weekend in August. Ladies are judged in four categories: Costume (kroj); private interview; on-stage interview, and talent. Two members of Moja Vlast are former Miss Wisconsin Czech-Slovak Queens. Sonia Anna Riecan was the First Miss Wisconsin Czech-Slovak Queen for 1999-2000 and was awarded 2nd place at the National Pageant. Krista Johanek was Miss Wisconsin Czech-Slovak Queen 2005-2006. In 2007 member Jessica Howie won the Kroj competion, Alison Schoepke won the Authentic talent competion and Jenny Sutton won the American talent competition. All the ladies continue to showcase their talents while performing with Moja Vlast.
